Project Description
Project: The Grievance Process
Overview:
This concise course guides new managers through the grievance process, equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to handle employee grievances effectively and constructively. By emphasizing clear steps, practical examples, and actionable advice, the course reframes grievances as opportunities to build stronger, more collaborative relationships with union-represented employees rather than seeing them as solely procedural or negative.
Project Objectives:
Working with the Company’s Labor team, I identified the need to create a course that demystifies the grievance process for new managers. The goal was to provide a brief, impactful learning experience that boosts managers’ confidence in handling grievances while fostering a positive, relationship-focused approach. The course also serves as part of a broader learning path for managers working within union environments, complete with additional resources like regional labor contract links.
My Role & Approach:
I managed the project end-to-end, including content development, video creation, and the integration of resource links. Using Articulate Rise, I crafted an intuitive course structure, and with Vyond and Well Said Labs’ AI voice for narration, I developed a dynamic, accessible video explaining the grievance process. Leveraging AI in voiceover and script refinement allowed for efficient, brand-aligned content creation and easy updates when needed.
Results:
Since its publication, this course has received a 5-star rating on the company’s LMS, reflecting its value in empowering new managers. Feedback highlights the course’s clarity and effectiveness in shifting managers’ perspectives, viewing the grievance process as an essential tool for fostering a healthy, respectful work environment.
